Gandhi Net Worth = $1k (at time of death)

Gandhi is one of those fantastic people you hear a lot about, but few go in-depth and learn his full story. His autobiography is an excellent piece of work and something that I think every human should read it through. His life is pervasive, and though he did go on to help free India from British rule, he also taught many other lessons.

Gandhi lives a different life, and he was not afraid to follow his convictions no matter what it cost him. Martin Luther King Jr considered Gandhi, a mentor when he was starting the Civil Rights Movement in the US. That is saying a lot! Gandhi left a significant impact on the world but to also have his ways used to help someone as an impact as King Jr is a big deal.

Gandhi Net Worth and Key Habits

#1 - Be Courageous

Courage is the ability to act despite being fearful of the moment. Courage does not mean that one never gets scared, but that they don't stop because of that fear. Gandhi allowed courage to lead the way. When he wanted to leave India to go to Britain to study law, he was denied going at first. His people thought he would let go of his Indian ways and become lost.

He continued to be courageous and push for what he wanted and was eventually allowed to go. Without this education and time in Britain, he may not have been able to free India later.

Gandhi always dared to hold tight to his convictions. Whether it is going against the crowd, not eating meat or the work he did to free India. It's no easy task to free a country from the rule of another, especially in the way he did it. It takes a massive amount of courage and a slow-burning fire to endure a lot to keep going.

#2 - Find Peace

Gandhi lived for the non-violent protest. He encouraged his people to be peaceful at all times. This was not just a moment for Gandhi, though; it was a habit. His entire life, he tried to find peace and take a non-violent approach to his problems.

He once felt he punished his boys harshly and without good reason, and it forever changes how he saw violence and what he thought it would accomplish. His views now are at least accepted, but at the time, if you did not have what you wanted, you had to punch someone in the mouth to get it. He came out saying if they hit you continue to be peaceful and eventually you will break their will.

Gandhi was known to give up a lot of things. He made it a habit to run experiments and see what he could do without. The most significant area he experimented with was with his food. He believed that food was not about eating for taste but eating to sustain the body. One should eat to live, not live to eat.

Gandhi lived without eating meat; he was willing to give other religions a try and do without his stubborn ways. If he had a headache, he would try eating less food to see if it would go away. He concluded that many health problems could be solved by what you eat.

Gandhi also was willing to stay away from having sex. Even as a married man, he thought being without it was good. He made a stark choice that he wanted to be a man of restraint over a man of pleasure. There is a considerable take away in this. Living for pleasure often does not bring us all we want in the long run.
