The comedian was born Kendrick Kang-Joh Jeong on July 13, 1969, in Detroit, Michigan, USA. His father, D.K Jeong, and mother, Young Jeong, were immigrants from South Korea.

The young Jeong went to Wаltеr Ніnеѕ Раgе Ніgh Ѕсhооl and the University of Duke. He later joined Сhареl Ніll Ѕсhооl оf Меdісіnе, Unіvеrѕіtу оf Nоrth Саrоlіnа for masters in Doctorate.

Ken married Tran Ho (a family physician) in 2004, and the couple has two children. Jeong believes that he could never have joined the showbiz industry if not for the encouragement he received from his wife, Tran.

His first role as an actor was in "Knocked Up" as DR. Kuni. Other popular movies by Jeong include "Role Models", "All About Steve", "Pineapple Express," and "The Hangover," among others.
