Habit #1 - Push Through The Critics
Lil Yachty style was not always celebrated. When he first came on the scene people did not like his childish colorful hair and how he sampled sounds from Mario Bros, and Charlie Brown.
The entire vibe that he put out did not feel professional and he took a lot of heat for it. He did not crumble under the pressure though. He felt no need to try and be like others.
When you are being criticized you need to be able to discern between when someone is trying to help you improve versus someone who just wants to tear you down. Someone people also may genuinely want to help you but not know the best way to do that.
All advice is not good advice, Lil Yachty proved that sometimes you have to trust your gut and stay on the path.
Habit #2 - Humbly Chase Your Dream
Everyone wants to realize their dream, but not everyone wants to make the sacrifice. Lil Yachty moved to NYC and worked at McDonald's as he worked on his music.
That is not an easy thing to do!
Imagine all of his friends back in Atlanta that probably laughed at him for moving that far just to flip burgers. That is not an easy thing to face but he went through and that humbled him going into his dream. He was able to appreciate success that much more.
Understand that the dream may not look like the dream at first. The dream may mean doing things that you don't want to do. Don't focus on where you have to start.
Instead, focus on where you plan to finish. Dig deep and grind for where you would like to end, Don't be scared to roll up your sleeves and clean bathrooms if that is what it takes to get your foot in the door.
Habit #3 - Stay Positive
Lil Yachty has a positive message he wants to bring to the world. He does not have time for negativity and bad energy.
He has been able to build a massive fan base and grow his net worth because he focus his mind on being positive. Since he is positive in his heart, the only thing that flows from his mouth is positivity and people like that.
Rap music has been known to be violent and talk about some heavy issues. Lil Yachty has decided to go on a different path and instead let his music make people feel good.
In today's world people are bombarded with ads telling them they are not good enough and seeing their friends on social media living better than them. Its easy to start being negative and have negative thoughts constantly running through your brain.
If you can infuse a positive message into your work and the people you interact with, people will grow to like you.
