Do One Thing at a Time to Lower Stress Levels

Want to start something today that can help with your stress? Do one thing at a time. Focus on doing one thing as much as possible. Clear everything off your desk so you can focus.

Pick one thing to work on. Need to write a blog? Or a project at work? Focus only on that. Remove distractions, and the biggest one that comes to mind is your phone.

You constantly always have to have it beside you, and that's fine, but they now have the fantastic option of putting your phone on Do Not Disturb, as well as turning off all notifications, this is a blessing!

As with anything practice makes perfect, so start with only keeping e-mail on, and turning off text, Facebook, Instagram. Keep practicing, and it'll become more comfortable over time.

Change Up Your Schedule to Be Stress Free

Do you always have things going on? A hectic schedule is one of the top reasons behind a stressful life. Are you the type of person that says yes to everything?

Learning to simplify your schedule and learning to say no to those not so essential requests will benefit you in the long wrong, and keeping the essential ones will help you feel like you've contributed and that won't leave you stressed.

Get Out And Start Moving to Be Stress-Free for a Moment

Do something each day to be active. Things like yoga, walking, hiking, playing a sport, and running all count. It doesn't have to be excessive, just enough for your body and to thank you. Move and have fun while doing it.

Discover One Healthy Habit A Month:

Have you wanted to quit smoking or start eating more fruits and vegetables? Taking on one healthy habit a month will benefit you greatly. Habits either add up to help you our destroy you. If you have destructive habits you want to change, focus on changing them one at a time with small changes.

Anyone can make small changes and do one thing at a time. Where change gets to be stressful is when you try and make big changes and work on multiple things at one time. You are almost sure to quit because it's overwhelming.

Focus On Your Breathe and Deep Breathing and Be Stress Free

Do you have something that calms you down? Some people enjoy doing an activity like the ones I have mentioned above, while some others enjoy taking a nap, a bath, reading, or even yes, sex.

Some others are calmed by cleaning, yard work, and some people like to meditate and go for walks. Figure out what will help you calm down, and whenever you feel stressed, do all of these or one, entirely up to you.

Simplify Your Finances and Be Stress Free:

This is a HUGE stress factor for almost everyone. With the beautiful world of technology, banks have now made it easier for you to take care of your money, and when and where the money is going each month. Downloading their APP, and scheduling payments will take the guessing work out of what you owe, and when you owe it.

Automatically take money out of savings, pay your credit card bill the same time every month with the same amount, so you know when it's coming out and how much to expect.

One of the best things you can do to reduce stress is to stop living paycheck to paycheck. You want to do everything you can to age your money. First, you give every dollar an assignment. Then you always try and spend money from the previous months first.

Eventually, you will get to the point where you are spending 30-day old money and you are officially not living from check to check. Not worrying about money like this is sure to help you be stress free.

Get Creative:

In the last little bit, adult coloring and adult painting have become incredibly mainstream. Getting creative is another excellent anti-stressor and is known to prevent stress.

Some people like writing, some people like drawing, some people like singing, while others like to get out there and take pictures or make music. Doing something creative helps your brain think of other things, and allows you to feel the stress-relieving benefits.

Declutter

This is a significant stressor for a lot of people, taking 20-30 minutes and go through a room and get rid of the things you don't ever use, or the things you genuinely don't think you'll need.

Look around and notice what is cluttered and what is not, either get rid of it or find a better place for it. After you are done, you will have a beautiful clean area to work, play, and live.

Be On Time:

I don't know about you, but I hate when I'm late, and to be honest, it always is a cause for stress, especially when you know people are waiting around for you.

Leave earlier, by getting ready earlier, or utilizing scheduling more time between events.

Things always take longer than expected so always be prepared for this. If you do get somewhere early, consider that a good sign, and it's also a good idea to bring some light reading material.
