To reach your best sometimes, you have to take things away. We are so used to thinking more is better. More is not always better; sometimes you can do much more with less. Time is what we all need and want more of, but you can't get more time no matter how precious you are. What you can do is manage the time you have in a better manner. To do that, you need to kill the time wasters. Some of these procrastination quotes may reveal just how bad these time wasters can be.

Time wasters are bad habits, things we fall into, and we do not even realize it until we look back. People are more aware now due to the rise in depression arising from things like social media. One of the most important things we can do with our lives is to become strict about our time. Most people are tight with their money and loose with their time when it makes more sense to be the opposite. You can make money back, but you can never get time back. Once you spend it, that time is gone forever.

The Time Wasters

Watching TV

The TV has always been one of the most epic time wasters, but it is on a brand new level now. The reason it is on a brand new standard is that we now have it on demand. Before you could only watch so much TV. There was a limit to channels, and it was a matter of time until none were playing something you wanted to watch. Then they made sure to expand to hundreds of channels to keep you around.

Now we have the TV on steroids! We can get whatever we want with the click of a button on Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. All you have to do is search and click, and you have a new show or movie playing. You can burn hours at a time with this stuff and get nothing done.

Can TV and movies teach you stuff, it can, but it is much too passive, and your brain does not have to work very much. When you look at the opportunity costs of TV as well, you can see that it is much too expensive. When you watch TV, you are not spending quality time with the people you're with because of you're all in a passive mode. Do one of the many other things you could be doing with your time instead.

Listening to Music is One of The Time Wasters

Music has followed a similar path to the TV. You can get what you want, when you want it with apps like Pandora, YouTube, and Spotify. Here is the problem with music; it's often pumping garbage in your head. The opportunity costs of listening to something that teaches you something are excellent.

You could be spending that time learning something new with a Ted Talk. It's hard to do this because the music speaks to your soul much more, and it changes how you feel. It's not to say that music is always wrong, but it will not do as much for your success as learning will. Music is often seen as a form of Entertainment.

Trading Time for Money

One of the most brutal time wasters is the exchange of your time for money. Most people call this a job. Society will convince you that to make money; you must trade your time for it. This is not true as most wealthy people tend to make money independent of their time. Time has a cap at 24 hours. Money can transfer to your pockets at any time if you have the right set up.

When you trade your time for money, you are putting a value on your life. If you work for $8/hr, you are saying that your life is only worth that. Now no one thinks that but by trading your time away, that is what you are doing. The reality is harsh! If you want to change that you are the only person who can do so. You have to improve your first and increase your value as you are doing it.

The focus should always be on streams of money that work for you while you are doing other things. You should be able to make money, sleeping, hanging with family, on vacation, or doing many other things.

Examples of Making Money While You Sleep

  • Online business

  • Teach online course

  • Make an app

  • Buy real estate

  • Start a franchise

You want to make money and not have to show up every day for it. Though it is easier said than done to achieve this, it is always worth working for. You have to keep hustling until your part-time gig becomes your only gig. Then you start digging many wells of income until you have money coming from several places.

Social Media is One of The Obvious Time Wasters

Social media is the most significant and worst thing to happen to people who want to be successful. It's great because it gives everyone a platform. It's sad because sites are designed to be addicting and waste your time. Social media should be used for your benefit. If Social Media is an obstacle to your success, you need to make a change.

When you spend a lot of time on social media, only your thumb gets worked from scrolling through content. Social media often has a low return on investment. Memes, funny videos, and creeping on people can only do so much for you. If you took the hours you spend on social media and put it into your dreams; you would be able to achieve them much faster.

Sleeping Too Much is a Huge Time Waster

Some people say sleep as much as possible; others say they don't sleep. Here is the thing, you gotta experiment with your rest and figure out what works for you. But why in the world would anyone want to get more sleep than needed? You only get one life to live! Why spend it on your bed snoozing away?

Habit Stacker changes that by giving you some accountability. Accountability improves how we do everything. It is not about not sleeping, and the goal is not to get as much sleep as possible. It is to LIVE LIFE, and you can't do that if you are in bed all the time. There is a reason that depressed people tend to sleep more. They often see no reason to get out of bed and live life.

You have a reason to get up and live! You have to wake up every day excited to go and do that. Even when you are going through hard times and when life is challenging you. You still need to show up and put in the work day in and day out. Every day there are people not given a chance to wake up. The fact that you are reading this means you still have a chance. The procrastination quotes list is meant to help highlight how valuable your time is.
