Your vibe is everything, but the vibe can also be a hard thing to grasp. You don’t get taught about vibes when you are in school. It’s not like most parents will sit you down and have that vibe talk. People talk about the vibe, but no one puts the finger on what it exactly is. It’s crucial to figure out, though, because your vibe attracts your tribe. If you think you’re the word vibe is like voodoo or some evil spirits, you will most likely hang around a lot of other people who feel the same thing.

The definition of vibe is this. A personal emotional state or the atmosphere of a place as communicated to and felt by others. I think this is a good start, but I believe there is more to it than that. Your vibe is the energy that radiates from you that can be picked up and perceived by others. We are going to break this down.

What is Energy? 

When people talk about energy, it’s really easy for people to dismiss it and speak of it like its voodoo magic or something. If I ask you, why do you eat and sleep? The answer is simple, and you do it to increase your energy. Energy is inside of us at all times. Why do we reject it or act like it’s not real or like we don’t understand it?

I started paying attention to this when my wife became a massage therapist. She would always tell me that there were certain people she would work on and that they would drain her of her energy. They felt like black holes, whereas other people just gave her life. How could this be?

The reality is that our emotional state or what we are surrounded by has a severe effect on our vibe and the energy that radiates from you. Other people are receptive to that energy. That is why you can be around someone and get a bad vibe. What you are picking up is their negative energy, and it begins to mess with your energy.

What Does it Mean When People Say “Your Vibe Attracts Your Tribe?”

Your tribe consists of the people you hang around. We are all tribal. Its why we live in family and love to be a part of teams and communities. It gives us people to be in a group. When we were living in the wild, we had a much better chance of survival when surrounded by people with the same mission, so we always looked for people to be with or vibe within other words.

Your vibe attracts your tribe means that you have to pay attention to the energy you put out because people perceive that and will be attracted to that. Think about this when you say you really “vibe” with something you are saying that your energies match. You think the same way you like similar things, and your life philosophy matches up, and that is.

That is a big reason that friends tend to be very similar. Suppose you think of high school cliques or tribes. You don’t have a lot of diversity within these groups. They may all have racial diversity but act the same way, which attracts them.

There Are Many Who Refuse This 

You will always hear about people who say that they don't believe we attract people similar to the energy we put out. Yet if you look at the people they hang around, you will see it to be true. When you meet power that clashes, you automatically feel uneasy about it. If someone asks you why you can never explain it? It's hard to put it into words; it's something you feel internally. It's like trying to explain to someone what being hungry feels like. It's just something deep inside of you.

How to Work on Your Vibe

Have a Positive Outlook

One of the biggest things you can do to put out positive vibes is to have a positive outlook. Anyone can see and find the bad in everything and harp on it all day. In general, most people would rather be around someone positive than negative. The reason is that positivity makes people feel good and puts them in a better emotional state.

If you are in the habit of being negative, the first step to changing that habit is aware. If you know you tend to be negative, then pay attention. What triggers your negativity, and how can you stop yourself and replace it with positive thoughts? It's not enough to be negative but not say it out loud because the negative vibe will still be put out there.

Smile 

It's hard to smile and think of horrible thoughts and vice versa. If you are thinking of the worst thing that has ever happened to you will not be smiling. When you authentically smile, it gives people to speak into your soul and how you are doing emotionally inside at the moment.

Not saying that a smile will wipe away all of life's problems, but in terms of attracting a better tribe, it will do wonders. People are more likely to talk to you if you have a smile on your face. A smile has the power to change what another person is feeling inside.

Find the Good In Others

One of the best habits you can build to put out a better vibe is to find the good in people. Some people do the opposite. They look for the worst in others so that they can tear them down. It does not need to be this way. If you find the good in others, it will force you to find a reason you like people instead of the reason you don't like them.

This has to happen at the habit level. You are either the type of person who looks good or you are not. There is not an in-between here. You either do it, or you don't. Your first instinct on this needs to switch. You have to put in the effort to do this, but it's well worth it.

Focus On Reducing  Stress

The one thing that has less to do with an attitude that will affect your vibe is your stress levels. If you are stressed to the max, you will put out a tired and stressed vibe. Some may be attracted to that to want to help you if they know you. But someone who does not know you will want to run as far as possible from this type of energy.

There are plenty of different ways to do this, and you have to find what works for you.

  • Sauna
  • Stretch
  • Hot shower
  • Do something you find restorative
  • Stop talking to certain people
  • Change your finances
  • Have a tough conversation
  • Workout

The list could go on and on of things you could to reduce stress. You have to find the ones that work for you and keep using them to reduce your stress. For me, it's playing Nintendo 64 because it brings me back to being a kid when stress did exist in life and it's just fun. That may not work for everyone though.

Expand Your Perspective

You want to read books, talk with different people, go to different places, and do everything you can to expand your perspective. One of the best ways to put out good vibes is to be able to relate to people. The more life experiences you have, the easier it will be for you to relate with others.

When some people with limited experiences talk to people who are different than them, they don't know how to adapt and see things the way they do. They immediately start to put out a negative vibe because their minds are not understanding and want to protect themselves from new ideas. When you get comfortable being uncomfortable, you can overcome this easily.

One of the best ways to put out good vibes is to be able to relate to people. The more life experiences you have the easier it will be for you to relate with others.

Your Vibe Attracts Your Tribe

When you look at those around you, they most likely were attracted by the energy you regularly put out. You need to pay attention to this and know that if you want to attract different people, you have to start changing your thoughts and heart. Your tribe is everything because you begin to think and act even more like your tribe. You almost become one brain.
