If you don't have the vision, your dreams will never happen. Building a superior vision is essential in life. Everything that we see around us once started as a vision in someone's mind. When you pay respect to that, you can begin to understand how important it is that you have a vision.
Having a superior vision means its more significant than the vision you had before. You don't want to think small because you will get less then you set out to. It's much better to go for a big vision and fail than to go for a smaller vision and fail. Having a vision also helps you to stay focused in the long run.
The best way to protect your vision is to keep it to yourself. Your vision is for you and not the world. The few people that you do tell should only be told for accountability reasons. It helps to have someone else know so they can make sure that you stay on the right path.
Build a Superior Vision - Let Go of The Limits
Before you can start to expand on any vision, you have first to let go of the limits. Everyone has two visions for their lives deep in their hearts. There is the vision that you think is realistic, and then there is the real one. The realistic vision has been filtered through limits.
Limits come from seeing what people around us have. If no one in your life drives a nice car or has a fantastic family, you begin to think that those things are not realistic. If you can't see others with it, then it must be something for those other people who are not you. Add the doubts and fears of others doubting you, and you have a limited vision.
You have to shake all that away. The vision is not a time to be realistic. The vision is about your wildest dreams. You have to verbalize it and accept it as your true vision. When you remove the shackles of small thinking, you get to see the beautiful life you want.
Change Your Identity
Once you begin to identify your real vision, you need to match your identity with that vision. This will help you to let go of who you are to become who you were made to be. You can never act in opposition with an identity you have for yourself.
For example, if you think you are worthless and weak, then you will never do things to build wealth. You will not believe you are deserving of success. You have to change your identity to match your vision. Don't wait to become a hard worker; be a hard worker. Don't talk about how you will become a family man, instead be a good family man.
Build It On Your Gifts
You want to build your vision on your God-given gifts. Here is where things get tricky. Most people develop their vision on something they like or a passion. Kids have a vision for being in the NBA but don't have an ounce of talent. You may love watching basketball though and notice that you can break down and analyze plays. Instead, maybe you need to start a sports talk radio.
The important thing is that you find your gift and make it the start of your vision. Your gift has the power to open doors in your life and lead way. Many people avoid their gifts because they can't figure out how they will make money. Don't let this be you. Find your gift and make it the focal point of your vision.
See Your Superior Vision Daily
You need to see your vision daily. Like a movie, you need to see it over and over again. Micheal Phelps did this very thing when he was training to be one of the greatest Olympians ever. He saw himself winning the Olympic gold medal. It was like a movie he would press play and watch it every day.
Your vision needs to be a movie where you know all the words and everything that is going to happen. You need to replay it over and over again and feel the emotions as if its actually at the moment.
Protect Your Superior Vision
Protect your dream! Only tell your vision to people who are on the same wavelength as you. The worst thing you can do is tell a hater because they will do everything to rip it apart.
The easiest way to kill something great is in its infancy stage. You don't wait for it to grow because it's much harder to kill. Haters pray on you when your vision is young and needs coddling to survive.
The best way to protect your vision is to keep it to yourself. Your vision is for you and not the world. The few people that you do tell should only be told for accountability reasons. It helps to have someone else know so they can make sure that you stay on the right path.
Work On Your Superior Vision and It Will Help You Figure Out How to Stay Focused
The real fun starts when its time to go to work. It's always scary when you start to work on a big vision because it feels daunting.
Anything can be broken down into smaller steps, though. There is no process in this world that can't be made into smaller steps. If you want to write a book, you have first to write one sentence.
This more than likely going to take you more than ten years to accomplish. If you go in with that mindset, you will not be disappointed when your life does not change overnight. Everything good takes time, and you have to be willing to survive for the long run. Anyone can start something and work hard for a week, but can you hang on for ten years?
Don't Give Up On Your Superior Vision
It's so cliche but its true. Giving up is the only way to be 100% sure that your vision does not come alive. There is going to be bumps in the road. People will let you down. Someone will steal from you. People will doubt you, and you will hear NO all too often. Keep going anyway!
