Think about this for a second. What makes an athlete great? It can't be talent because once you get to a certain level, all the athletes have the ability.

It can't be their work ethic because at that point in the sport they all work hard. The difference is in the habits. Habits allow you to take consistent action without having to think. Habits are automatic.

When you don't have habits, it means that you have to spend time thinking about what to do. People with good habits can devote this mental energy to other places. Hold on a minute, though! You now know the secret, and you want to go and change the world now. You need to do something worthy first.

Changing Your Identity First

No 30 day success formula will work without a change in identity. You have to change your mindset from I am trying to be successful to "I AM SUCCESSFUL."  Trying to do something is great, but it means that you're not already it. It means that you are lacking and need something to be complete.

When you are, it means you are not lacking. It's a reminder that everything you need is already in you. The same way that a baby is born knowing how to eat; the basics of success are with you. Habits make sense to you because the idea has come installed in you from birth.

Most people get their 30 day success formula wrong because they focus on the outcome. In this case, the result is a success, and then they lean on a process.

The process could be reading books, or it could be trying to improve habits. These ways fail you because you have not changed what matters most. You must change how you see yourself.

When you change your identity, you declare that you are a success. You see yourself as enough. Once you make this change, you start to ask what do successful people do?

Do successful people watch Netflix, or do they read? Do they sleep-in or wake up early? These questions start to help you pick out the habits you should be changing.

Now the key is putting together a set of habits that you want to change. These are the daily actions you plan to make. If you don't understand why habits are the focus, it's because they make up our entire life.

Some habits are not as evident because they support other more important habits. Let's say you are going to shoot 200 shots a day on the basketball court.

Some good habits to go with it could be:

The habits above all support your main habit. Shooting may be the habit that will improve your game the most. Problem is you may get injured or be too tired to shoot if you do not do the other things.

The second reason that people fall off of the 30 day success formula is that they start too big. If you have never shot the basketball daily before, beginning with 200 shots may be a bit much.

Start as tiny as possible by starting with 1-5 shots a day. The goal would be to head to the courts, put up five shots and leave. You could do more, but that point is to get yourself used to show up and build some habit momentum.

The same goes for the rest of the habits given as an example above. If you have never stretched daily, start by stretching for a total of two minutes. If you want to workout, start by walking or by doing one push-up.

The point is this, the way to win any habit is to get into the routine of doing it in the first place. We are not motivated to do hard things. If you set a habit that is too large, it can be hard to work up enough motivation to do it daily. Starting small is the way to make sure that you win.

The 30 day successful formula is about laying the foundation for long term success. If you want to get a quick hit or the one thing you can do to succeed, it's a lie.

Think if everyone could make a billion dollar in 30 -days. If it were that easy, we would all be billionaires. We all can't have these things because they are hard and they take time.

For the 30 day success formula to end with a win, you must be consistent. You see yourself in a new light. You started small. The only way to get to knock out some big habits each day is to keep working at it.

You can't follow through on your habits now and then or only when you feel like it. They must be automatic and essential things in your day. If your habits are not the most critical things in your day, you need some more or new habits.

One of the best ways to ensure you keep your habits up is to get rid of what you feel like doing. Feelings are weak, and they often leave us with nothing. You may not feel like reading today, but that does not mean you don't need to.

You may not feel like working out today, but who does? Get it done! When you approach your habits with this mindset, you will get them done daily no matter what.
